Volunteer as a subject matter expert
You have years in nonprofits, security, governance or law, and you want to give some of it back. Subject matter experts (SMEs) with Pass IT On, Inc. (Texas Chapter) lead real work with our community partners: hands-on project management for a defined portion of an AI governance build.
What the role involves
- Take a defined portion of the build with the community partner, with assigned responsibilities, tasks, coordination and deadlines.
- Run specific sprints, whether or not students are available for that engagement.
- Volunteer in a three-month cycle, staggered so a kickoff group and a finishing group overlap.
- Train and strengthen fellow SMEs in AI governance through internal sessions. You may host sessions yourself.
- If you have AI security experience, help train students in intelligence briefings and red-team reporting aligned to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and MITRE ATLAS (a catalog of attacks on AI systems).
